In the upcoming drama “Everything Before Us,” marriage isn’t the only union that must be legitimized. The debut feature from Philip Wang and Wesley Chan tells the unique story of two couples trying their best to maintain and strengthen their love while navigating around the rules of an organization that monitors all romantic relationships. As one budding couple attempts to register for the first time, another is ending their relationship with termination contracts. Their activities are documented and monitored by the Department of Emotional Integrity (DEI), a DMV-styled agency that issues a relationship score to keep individuals accountable for their relationship activity and choices. The score is public for all to see and affects various aspects of their daily lives. The film stars  Aaron Yoo (“Disturbia”), Ki Hong Lee (“The Maze Runer”), Randall Park (“Fresh off the Boat”), Brandon Soo Hoo (“Tropic Thunder”), Brittany Ishibashi (“Political Animals”) and Victoria Park (“Ravens Touch”).

The drama not only marks the debut of its two directors, but it will also be the first feature film released by Wong Fu Productions. Founded by Chan, Wang and Ted Fu, the company primarily known for their YouTube channel where they create short films, sketches, music videos and vlogs. Since starting Wong Fu Productions in their dorm over a decade ago, they have amassed 2 million subscribers and over 300 million views.

“Everything Before Us” will be available to stream exclusively on Vimeo On Demand. Watch the trailer above.
