The newest addition to their roster is “Humans,” a science fiction series from British writers Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley. Set in the suburbs of London, the show takes place in a fictional version of the present where the must-have gadget of the moment is called a Synth — an artificially-intelligent servant who’s virtually indistinguishable from actual humans.

Though the network has notably dabbled in genre fare with mega-hit “The Walking Dead,” AMC is headed into new terrain with “Humans.” An exclusive new clip (posted above) hints at the show’s secrecy, mystery and intensity, while also introducing us to Oscar winner William Hurt as the unstable Synth creator. Safe to say, this tease has us eager to see more.
