'Clusterf*ck' Traverses the Hazards of the Friend Zone

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film, web series, TV pilot, what-have-you in progress — at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a project you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

Clusterf*ck

Logline: A romantic comedy about not knowing.

Elevator Pitch: “Clusterf*ck” is a sexy, funny, heartfelt and entertaining story about a group of friends in their mid-twenties who drink too much, make mistakes, hurt themselves and each other. They live to learn from their errors. It’s an adult coming-of-age story that stands in stark contrast with the idea that it’s normal to remain a kid well into your “grown up” years.
Production Team:

Mazi Khalighi (Director/Producer/Writer)
Glenda MacInnis (Actor/Producer/Writer): “Lost Girl,” “Bitten”
Tommie-Amber Pirie (Actor/Writer): “Bitten,” “The F Word,” “The Trotsky”
Kjartan Hewitt (Actor/Writer): “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World,” “This Movie Is Broken”
Andy McQueen (Actor/Writer): “Aaliyah The Princess Of R&B,” “The Girlfriend Experience”
Jeremy Lalonde (Executive Producer): “Sex After Kids,” “How To Plan An Orgy In A Small Town”

About the Film: “Clusterf*ck” is the result of a failed relationship that I had while I was in my mid-twenties. I had fallen for a girl who put me in the friend zone, not realizing that I had put another female friend of mine in the friend zone. This friend zone triangle turned into a disaster and inspired me to write a script. Once I found interested actors I opened up the script to them and we all embraced the highly improvised “mumblecore” aesthetic and came up with a story we could all relate to and share credit on.

Current Status: Recently completed Indiegogo campaign. Production began June 22, 2015.
