Peccadillo Pictures has announced they will be handling the distribution of Colin Rothbart’s awesome new documentary “Dressed as Girl.” The film film tells the story of East London’s alternative drag scene with various touching personal stories at its heart. This group of individuals question their friendships, families and personal ambitions whilst dressing up to shock the world and change perceptions.
“Personally I am thrilled to be working with Peccadillo Pictures, as it is thanks to them I have had the opportunity to watch so many amazing gay themed movies,” said the film’s producer Chris Amos. “It is the natural distribution home for Dressed as a Girl here in the UK and Ireland.”
Director Colin Rothbart added that he is “very excited about Dressed as a Girl being distributed by Peccadillo Pictures. After six long years making the film, I couldn’t be happier Peccadillo Pictures are now on board to shepherd the film to the market place here and reach the audiences I am hoping will enjoy the film.”
“We are delighted to be bringing the highlight of this year’s BFI Flare (London’s LGBT Film Festival) to a wider audience and we are really pleased to be welcoming Colin, Chris and the rest of the crew to the Peccadillo family,” Peccadillo Pictures MD, Tom Abell has said on the acquisition. “There has never quite been a frockumentary like it.”
“Dressed as Girl” features some of the most renowned British drag acts including Jonny Woo, Scottee, Holestar, Amber, John Sizzle and Pia.
