Film Movement Acquires Sundance Drama 'Take Me to the River'

Film Movement has acquired North American distribution rights for Matt Sobel’s drama film, “Take Me to the River.” The movie premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and marks Sobel’s directorial debut. 

“Take Me to the River” tells the story of Ryder, a gay California teen who wants to come out to his conservative Nebraskan family during a family reunion but holds off to appease his mother. As tensions rise during the family reunion, Ryder learns some secrets that weren’t meant to be uncovered. The cast includes Logan Miller, Robin Weigert, Josh Hamilton and Richard Schiff. 

The film will his theaters January 2016.
