DP Sarah Thomas Moffat knows what it takes to become a successful working cinematographer. She parsed out her path through film school, PA jobs and years of assisting before stepping up as a professional cinematographer. 

The DP is the head of the camera department, so it’s not enough to just know how to operate a camera.
