LGBT Festival Hit 'A Reunion' Hits Theaters

Ariztical Entertainment has announced the September 17th theatrical release of “A Reunion” — set to open at the Laemmle Music Hall in Beverly Hills.  The film premiered at the Provincetown International Film Festival last year before the making the festival rounds.  It is the debut feature from director Hernando Bansuelo.

A micro-budgeted and partly improvised road movie, the film follows Michael (Michael Lovan) and Josh (Josh Watson), close friends from college who reunite years after what was clearly a complicated relationship fizzled out. Michael now lives in Japan, and flies in to Los Angeles to meet Josh and embark on a good ol’ fashioned road trip to Chicago. What results is a film that’s surprising and thoughtful and occasionally quite stirring, and one that certainly rises above standard gay romance fare.  It also promises good things from Bansuelo and his co-conspirators (Lovan and Watson co-wrote the screenplay with Bansuelo, and the whole thing feels like a clear joint effort).

Watch a clip from the film below, and check it out in theaters come September:
