READ MORE: Sundance Curiosities: Joe Swanberg and Noah Baumbach Could Take American Indie Film Mainstream
After making the move from mumblecore to mainstream indies with “Drinking Buddies,” Joe Swanberg continues to appeal to the masses in the star-studded new trailer for his upcoming marital comedy-drama, “Digging For Fire.” The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.
“Digging For Fire” stars Jake Johnson and Rosemarie DeWitt as Tim and Lee, a married Los Angeles couple who take individual trips of self-discovery. While Tim connects with friends in the area and literally digs for bones in the backyard, Lee worries about losing her identity while on a visit to her parents. The two get sidetracked in their own adventures — ones that incorporate friends and newcomers in the form of Sam Rockwell, Brie Larson, Mike Birbiglia, Jenny Slate, Orlando Bloom and Anna Kendrick, among others.
