FilmBuff has announced that it will distribute Steven Piet’s “Uncle John.”

The film follows the disappearance of Dutch, a small-town bully who has reformed himself into a born again Christian. John Ashton stars as John, a well-liked member of the community who has more involvement in Dutch’s disappearance than anyone would suspect. The only person who suspects John is Danny, Dutch’s drunk brother. When John’s nephew Ben comes for a spontaneous visit from Chicago, John struggles to hide Danny’s suspicions and avoid his threats. As the pressure on John builds, it becomes clear that his need for revenge may affect more than just him.

“Uncle John” also stars Alex Moffat, Jenna Lyng and Ronnie Gene Blevins. The film, which premiered at SXSW, will open in select theaters and VOD on September 18.
