…and then there was one. Earlier this month it was reported that Lea Seydoux (“Spectre,” “Blue Is The Warmest Color“), Rebecca Ferguson (“Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation“), and Abbey Lee (“Mad Max: Fury Road,” “The Neon Demon“) were all in the mix to join Channing Tatum in “Gambit.” However, as August draws to a close, only one remains standing.
Deadline reports that Seydoux has received the offer for the role of Belladonna Boudreaux in Marvel’s next superhero movie. Rupert Wyatt will direct the pic about the Louisiana mutant, with Seydoux playing Gambit’s longtime love, who has her own unique set of skills and also rolls with the Assassin’s Guild.
Presumably all will go well, and Seydoux will sign on. Production on the film begins this fall. “Gambit” opens on October 7, 2016.
