As the dissection of “Fantastic Four” continues (check out my thoughts on why Fox doesn’t necessarily have to completely throw in the towel), it’s becoming clear that somewhere along the way, what Josh Trank wanted to present and what made it to the big screen are two vastly different things.
You may have seen some of these floating around the internet already, but Da7e Gonzales, Slashfilm, and Collider has collected a bunch of images from the film’s promotional material that were never seen in the film. Meanwhile, Reddit users noticed that Planet Zero’s red tint in the first trailer was changed to green later on, and if that’s not enough, some recently surfaced B-roll footage reveals the Fantasticar was involved a sequence cut from the movie. Lastly, screenwriter Jeremy Slater tweeted that most of what he wrote got cut as well.
Maybe Fox could cut their losses and release a super packed Blu-ray with all the material that was cut out, or maybe let Trank put together the version he was intending (or close as possible). Check it all out below.
There’s not a ton of my stuff left in the movie (mostly the 1st act), but I’ll always be honored that I got to play in such a cool sandbox.
