Amazon Studios is partnering with Kristen Wiig for one of their first in-house film productions, Deadline Hollywood reported earlier today. The film, entitled “Desired Moments,” comes form screenwriter Griffin Creech and has award-winning commercial filmmaker Tom Kuntz set to direct. The production marks one of the first films to be developed since producer Ted Hope was brought on to the Amazon team to generate content to be distributed in theaters before coming exclusively to Amazon.
“Desired Moments” is a dark comedy about a midwestern TV station employee and the online wish-granting service he becomes obsessed with. No release date information has been set, though Deadline reports that Amazon is looking to lock down the male lead relatively soon. Michael London is producing with Janice Williams through Groundswell Productions.
