In the latest acquisition announcement from TIFF, Drafthouse Films has snagged North American distribution rights to the dark Danish comedy “Men & Chicken.” The film is written and directed by Anders Thomas Jensen (“In A Better World”) and stars Mads Mikkelsen (“Casino Royale,” “The Hunt”) and David Dencik (“Tinker, Tailer, Soldier, Spy,” “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”).
The wonderfully-titled “Men & Chicken” sees the pair reunite for their father’s funeral, only to find out that it was not their father after all. The ensuing story follows these bumbling brothers along a wild trip to meet their long-lost family in which they unearth countless comedic and disturbing familial secrets.
“We’ve loved Anders’ work since we first saw ‘Flickering Lights,'” says Drafthouse Films COO James Emanuel Shapiro, “and ‘Adam’s Apples’ is one of the big reasons why Fantastic Fest exists. It’s exciting as a fan to work with him on his latest film.”

Fantastic Fest, the largest international genre film festival in the United States, will present the U.S. premiere of “Men & Chicken” later this month.

“Men & Chicken” has its North American Premiere at TIFF on Monday in the Vanguard Section, and is set to open in limited theatrical release in 2016.
