Returning to NYFF on October 8 after debuting “Inherent Vice” at the fest last year, friend of fest director Kent Jones Paul Thomas Anderson will present his first documentary, “Junun.” Anderson follows his collaborating composer Jonny Greenwood’s (“There Will Be Blood,” “The Master,” “Vice”) journey to Rajasthan, India to record an album with Israeli musician Shye Ben Tzur.

Together, Greenwood and Ben Tzur gathered a group of musicians from across India to produce an album, in a studio inside a storied 15th-century fort, that will be released in November. “Junun” the film will stream on MUBI October 9.
