Smithers Is Finally Going To Come Out on 'The Simpsons'

It only took him 27 years, but Smithers is finally coming out.

The producers of "The Simpsons" have said that Mr. Burns’ long suffering assistant will come out at some point during the remarkably long-running series’ new season. We’ve known all along, as have many "Simpsons" characters — but Mr. Burns is not among them.

“We deal with that in two episodes,” said executive producer Al Jean. “We actually do a lot with Smithers this year; he gets fed up with Burns not appreciating him and considers his options.”

The episode will come just over 10 years after Marge’s sister Patty came out in 2004.

Yeah, he is, wasn’t that revealed about 6 years ago?

Hooray another gimmick to get people to tune in and it won’t be nearly as good as the hype. Fore shame Simpsons. I’ve been a fan since the show started as bumpers for Ulman. I can write better scripts and I’m blind. Hey let me know if you want help with your sight gags too! Drop me a line

Wait….Smithers is GAY?!

Jules, yeah that was a good while back. Homer became an ordained minister in that episode to marry all of the gay people who showed up. Patty was supposed to marry a woman named Veronica, but Veronica turned out to be a guy, so it was cancelled.

Since when did Patty came out of the closet and what episode??? WTH!!!!

Paul Gibbs

And just 15 years after the show stopped being any good. The gay friendliness is a good thing, it’s just that the writing hasn’t been interesting or funny in so long . . .
