Avi Lewis and Naomi Klein’s documentary on climate change has just announced a global screening event to be hosted in 13 cities around the world on September 26, just a month before the film’s exclusive iTunes release on October 20. These screenings serve as part of the UN’s “COP21” climate meeting, which is set to convene later this year.
According to the official synopsis, “This Changes Everything” is an “epic attempt to re-imagine the vast challenge of climate change. Connecting the carbon in the air with the economic system that put it there, Klein builds to her most controversial and exciting idea: that we can seize the existential crisis of climate change to transform our failed economic system into something radically better.”
The screening cities include Berlin, Bergen, Oslo, Barcelona, Edinburgh, Manila, London, Dublin, Manchester, Bucharest, Stockholm, Thessaloniki and Amsterdam. All of the screenings will be accompanied with panel discussions, and many will be followed by a Skype conversation with the directors.
“This Changes Everything” will hit NYC theaters October 2, before expanding to wider special screenings in over 30 cities.
