Virgil Films has announced that it has acquired North American distribution rights to Michael Barnett’s award-winning film, "Becoming Bulletproof." The film will be presented as part of the series "Morgan Spurlock Presents," created by Virgil and the "Super Size Me" director.
"Morgan Spurlock Presents: Becoming Bulletproof" chronicles the making of the film "Bulletproof," a Western made by filmmakers and actors with disabilities who meet annually at Zeno Mountain Farm in Los Angeles to make original films. Shot on the same set as the Western, "Becoming Bulletproof" introduces us to a dynamic and inclusive filmmaking community that transcends stigmas to make riveting movies.
"’Becoming Bulletproof’ is a rare and uplifting film that has had audiences cheering wherever it has been shown, and it’s exactly the type of project that makes us proud of what we do," said Virgil’s Joe Amodei said.
Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock added, "Michael Barnett has made a film that’s funny as well as inspiring – it’s a one-of-a-kind gem."
The film will debut tomorrow, September 25, at the IFC Center in New York before being released in additional theaters across North America.
