Michael Fassbender isn’t the only one giving Shakespeare a bold reinterpretation this season, as National Theater Live has announced that the Benedict Cumberbatch-starring production of “Hamlet” will be hitting U.S. theaters for a limited engagement October 15-22.
Directed by Lyndsey Turner, the ambitious adaptation brings Shakespeare’s iconic work into the modern era and features Cumberbatch in the title role. The National Theater production of “Hamlet” has been playing in London since August 5, and the filmed version of Turner’s adaptation will be released just before the UK production closes its curtains on October 31.
