The contemporary career of Robert De Niro is perhaps best exemplified by this upcoming slate of films. Next week, he’ll co-star in the big studio comedy “The Intern,” later this year he’ll have a turn in the Oscar contending “Joy,” and in 2016 he’s got the boxing biopic “Hands Of Stone” ready to go. And then there’s stuff like “Heist,” which, when added to the mix of projects, gives De Niro’s slate an air of unpredictability. It’s another entry in his growing canon of low-rent movies, and for the curious, the first trailer is here.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Kate Bosworth, Gina Carano, Dave Bautista, and Morris Chestnut round out the cast for this one, directed by Scott Mann (“The Tournament“), which follows a desperate man who plots a casino heist that goes terribly wrong. Here’s the logline:
A father is without the means to pay for his daughter’s medical treatment. As a last resort, he partners with a greedy co-worker to rob a casino. When things go awry they’re forced to hijack a city bus.
Lionsgate will release the film in limited release and On Demand on November 13th. Watch below.
