One of the most anticipated movies of the fall season, Guillermo Del Toro’s “Crimson Peak” has a tense and creepy new clip, courtesy of Yahoo! Movies. The director’s latest foray into fear and fantasy finds Edith, a young writer played by Mia Wasikowska, moving into her new husband’s mansion, which happens to be rife with horrors, not the least of which includes the groom’s cold and intimidating sister Lucille, played by Jessica Chastain.
When Edith innocently asks for her own set of keys for the house, Lucille bluntly tells her she doesn’t need them, for there are parts of the dilapidated mansion that are “unsafe.” Chastain’s icy delivery promises all the controlling, Mrs. Danvers-esque creepiness one could hope for.
The rest of “Crimson Peak” will premiere October 16, just in time to provide a ton of gothic horrors for the Halloween season. Watch the clip above.
