Just when you thought the state of Florida couldn’t come across any worse, along comes another episode of “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.”

The latest episode of HBO’s on-point late night series tackled the ugly situation of America’s public defenders. With overworked lawyers, Constitutional violations, judges fighting with attorneys — actually fighting, like, with their with hands — and a ranking of which muppets are most sexually appealing, the 15-minute segment has something for everyone…

…and then there’s the finale. A consistent highlight of “Last Week Tonight,” the final few minutes of Sunday’s featured story didn’t disappoint. Oliver wrangled in some of your favorite TV cops to read a more accurate version of the Miranda rights so often quoted in film and television. Dennis Quaid gets angry, Regina King cracks a joke and Kima, er, Sonja Sohn, is as real as the streets. Enjoy.
