We’ve waited a long time for this, folks, but it’s finally here: Netflix announced this morning the first season of “Jessica Jones,” starring Krysten Ritter and David Tennant, will premiere November 20, 2015. Start your countdowns now!
“Jessica Jones” follows “Daredevil” in bringing to life the grittier side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in episodic form, and based on the video announcement of the premiere date above, will be tonally in line with the earlier superhero series.
Of course, as we learned earlier this summer from executive producer Jeph Loeb, “Jessica Jones” is “a psychological thriller first and then a superhero show second.” For those familiar with the original comic, you’ll catch a visual reference to the first issue’s opening panels in the swirling graphics; but the premiere date is what matters. Get ready for all 13 episodes this November.
