Watch: Tom Hiddleston Sings as Hank Williams in 'I Saw the Light' TIFF Clip

Set for TIFF is Hank Williams biopic “I Saw the Light,” starring Tom Hiddleston as the country western crooner whose life was destroyed by fame in 1953. It’s written and directed by longtime producer Marc Abraham. In the clip below, Hiddleston sings “Move it On Over,” and we also get a tease of Elizabeth Olsen’s performance as his first wife, Audrey Mae Williams.

A November 27 release from Sony Pictures Classics indicates that Michael Barker and Tom Bernard are adding Hiddleston, who has never been nominated for an Oscar, to their burgeoning awards campaigns, still to come for Cannes winner “Son of Saul,” NYFF closer “Miles Ahead,” Redford/Blanchett-starrer “Truth” and Sundance indies “Diary of a Teenage Girl” and “Grandma.”

Based on Colin Escott’s award-winning biography, the film co-stars Elizabeth Olsen, Bradley Whitford, David Krumholtz and Cherry Jones.
