Get your flux capacitor-powered Deloreans ready this autumn, because Jason Aron’s “Back in Time,” an homage to the unparalleled genius of “Back to the Future,” which turned 30 years old this year, is coming.
The documentary started out as a tiny idea and has snowballed into a complete retrospective of the film’s worldwide legacy. Featuring interviews with Marty McFly himself, Michael J. Fox, writer Bob Gale, director and co-writer Robert Zemeckis (who says in the trailer, correctly, “I think it’s the best thing I’ve ever written”), co-star Lea Thompson, and a noteworthy cameo from Steven Spielberg, any fan of the franchise should be over-the-moon with such news.
The film will be released on “Future Day,” October 21, 2015, the day that will hopefully put a certain internet meme to bed forever. It’s hard for this writer to believe that day is arriving so soon (here’s a countdown to remind Max Spielberg how many "Jaws" movies he has to make in the next few months), but now there’s more than one reason to anticipate its arrival. Look for “Back in Time” on VOD and in select theaters near then, and watch the trailer below.
