It almost sounds made up: John Travolta told Extra that he was at a dinner with Lady Gaga and Barbra Streisand, and that Babs asked Gaga to play Louise in her long delayed remake of “Gypsy.”
“I called Barbra and said, ’Lady Gaga is next door on her ‘American Horror Story’ set. I met her, she’s lovely. I really think you should meet her, she’s a visionary like you,’” Travolta said. “So I set up a dinner and we just had a great time, exchanging ideas and feelings about life. And it went about six hours… I think she always visualized Gaga as Louise and maybe me as Herbie.”
Now, whether Streisand ever gets the project off the ground — and if she does, that Gaga is actually cast, remains to be seen. But for now, we just want to see footage of that dinner (which frankly, would probably be more entertaining than the movie).
