Cartagena International Film Festival Launches Second Edition of PuertoLab's Work in Progress

PuertoLab
is the
Festival’s initiative aimed at supporting and enabling Iberoamerican
filmmakers with the
completion
of their films. For FICCI, it is an additional step in its commitment
with the region’s
cinema,
giving a film a meeting ground with financial resources, guidance and
the necessary
contacts,
which ultimately will translate into the film’s own gateway in the
search for its own
audience.

This program is open to a
filmmaker’s first, second and third films in their completion process.
Whether fiction
or
documentary, five films whose main production is
developed in a Latin
American
country will be chosen. Films are expected to be in their first cut and to last between
70 to 110
minutes.

The selected films will be screened to PuertoLab’s
jury and to a select group of
experts
within the film industry accredited to attend: international sales
agents, distributors and
programmers
from other film festivals. All of them will add to these films in their
process of
completion,
exhibition and finally, at their encounter with their audience.

The winning
film will feature a prize package: $5.000 USD in cash; the CINECOLOR
Award, which
includes all
post production processes that range from the packaging to the
arranging of the master
DCP
including sound lab; the Motiff Award for the poster design for print or
digital display; and
the Bros and
Post Award towards the development of the film’s trailer.

PuertoLab
call for
entries is open now and until December 13, 2015. The
registration form as well
as the results will be found on the festival’s  website,

www.ficcifestival.com

.

The
announcement of the selected projects will unveil during the second week
of January.

The winning
film will be announced on March 4th in Cartagena de Indias; the jury’s
decision will be
final.
