Exclusive: Nightmarish 'Crimson Peak' Audiobook Clip Proves 'Ghosts Are Real'

If the dazzling and nightmarish visions of red from Guillermo del Toro’s gothic horror-romance “Crimson Peak” weren’t quite enough for you, the film has just gotten its own audiobook to bring acoustic life to the spooky story. The film novelization is written by Nancy Holder, with haunting British narration from Imogen Church.

The words ring with melancholy as Church describes a world “drenched in blood” where “ghosts are real.” The audiobook is flush with rich language to fill out the haunted house backdrop that is so vividly rendered on camera.

The latest film from horror mastermind Guillermo del Toro, “Crimson Peak” is a dark romance set in a ghostly gothic mansion. Mia Wasikowsa plays an author torn between her love for her childhood friend (Charlie Hunnam) and her marriage to a seductive outsider (Tom Hiddleston), whose mysterious sister (Jessica Chastain) holds the key to the family’s secrets. Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures will release “Crimson Peak” on October 16.
The accompanying audiobook will be on sale on October 16 and is available for preorder here. Check out an exclusive audio clip below that will chill you to the bone.
