After delivering one of the best action movies of the year with “Mad Max: Fury Road,” it was inevitable that George Miller would be linked to a couple of big budget movies —he’s been tossed around as a potential candidate for “Man Of Steel 2” and “Justice League Dark.” Neither seems to be of any particular priority at Warner Bros., not to mention that Zack Snyder has said that for all intents and purposes “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” is essentially a “Man Of Steel” followup. And now Miller himself is pouring cold water on the notion he’s going superhero.
Speaking with Digital Spy, he says that not only is he not helming “Man Of Steel 2,” but he hopes his next project will not be a huge spectacle. “I hope the next film I make is a very small film without any special effects and not many stunts,” Miller said. And really, who can blame the guy?
As awesome as “Mad Max: Fury Road” is, the production was tough, facing weather delays among other things, so if Miller wants to do something more “Babe: Pig In The City” in size, that makes sense. But considering he’s besting directors decades his junior at big screen mayhem, here’s hoping isn’t long until he’s making things blow up real good again. Check out this chat below.
