Here's Your Chance to Own Makeup Artist Rick Baker's 'Gremlins' Puppets


When legendary makeup effects artist Rick Baker announced his retirement, and the closing of his Cinovation Studios shingle, earlier this year—victims of a shift to digital long in the making—the end of a 40-year Hollywood career meant that it was time for more than of few of his iconic pieces to find a new home. Will that home be yours?

With help from film memorabilia specialist the Prop Store, the seven-time Oscar winner (“Ed Wood,” “The Nutty Professor,” “Men in Black”) is auctioning more than 400 of his creations online next month. Items include Wolfman masks from “The Wolfman,” zombie costumes from “The Haunted Mansion,” a Grinch bust with mask from “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” and artifacts from “Mighty Joe Young,” “Planet of the Apes,” and “Harry and the Hendersons.” Bidding, which is open to the public, begins Monday, Nov. 2 and concludes Friday, Nov. 13.
