Laurence Fishburne Indie Thriller 'Standoff' Finds a Distributor in Saban Films (2016 Release Date eyed)

This wasn’t even on my radar at all, so it’s entirely new to me. In the upcoming, titled “Standoff,” Thomas Jane plays a troubled veteran who gets a chance at redemption by protecting a 12 year-old girl from an assassin, played by Laurence Fishburne, after she witnesses a murder. With only a shotgun with a single shell, he engages in physical and psychological warfare in a desperate fight for the girl’s life, and, in turn, his.

Ella Ballentine plays the girl.

The film is directed by Adam Alleca – his feature film directorial debut. 

Goldrush Entertainment, First Point Entertainment and Maple Leaf Films are all listed as producers. And announced this week, Saban Films has acquired U.S. distribution rights to the film for an early 2016 release (no exact date yet).
