Oscars: Here Are All 124 Films Submitted for Best Documentary Feature

The full list of 124 films submitted for consideration in this year’s Oscar race for Best Documentary Feature makes one thing clear: arriving at the 15-film shortlist, to be announced in December, will be a tough task indeed. The documentary branch under recent rule revisions will try to see everything, but are assigned lists of 20 percent which come in as the year progresses, but the big piles land in the fourth quarter. Among the submissions, not all of which have yet had their required Los Angeles and New York qualifying releases, are William F. Buckley v. Gore Vidal doc “Best of Enemies,” Alex Gibney’s damning investigation into the Church of Scientology, “Going Clear,” Crystal Moselle’s Sundance sensation “The Wolfpack,” and, of course, many, many more.
