Ryuichi Sakamoto and Alva Noto are set to compose the score for Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s upcoming adventure epic “The Revenant.”

“The Revenant,” which has been publicly plagued by production problems, stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a man attacked by a bear and left for dead.

Sakamoto previously won an Oscar for Best Original Score for his work on “The Last Emperor,” and Noto is his longtime collaborator. Bryce Dessner is also set to provide original score.

“I am thrilled to finally be working with Ryuichi,” Iñárritu stated, adding, “He is an incredibly unique talent and I have been a big admirer of his work for years.” Sakamoto said, “I’ve been given the opportunity to work with perhaps the most influential director right now. I couldn’t be more honored.”

“The Revenant” will open in limited release on December 25, with a wide release to follow on January 8.
