Director David Lean’s Oscar-winning classic “Doctor Zhivago,” released back in 1965, is hoping to secure a new audience with a gorgeous digital restoration and 4K DCP print presentation. The British Film Institute has announced plans to re-release the decades old masterpiece for a new generation of filmgoers, beginning with a sumptuous modern trailer — weaving classic moments with universal praise from director Paul Greengrass, The Guardian and Time Magazine.

The BFI will release the film in theaters across the U.K. on November 27th as part of its “Love Season” lineup. Other notable rereleases from the BFI include Warner Bros.’ “2001: A Space Odyssey,” “Blade Runner: The Final Cut,” and “The Shining.” “Doctor Zhivago” will be shown in its original 200-minute runtime, uncut and digitally remastered.
