Watch: Half of Hollywood Turns Up in Bonkers Trailer for Coens' Epic Caper, 'Hail, Caesar!'

Joel and Ethan Coen are back in comedy mode with the trailer for their anticipated new film “Hail, Caesar!”: two minutes and thirty seconds so full of big names in crazy costumes and even crazier situations it already feels worthy of the name “epic.”

As studio fixer Eddie Mannix, Josh Brolin (“No Country for Old Men”) tries to clean up the mess—and stave off the press—when movie star Baird Whitlock (George Clooney) goes missing, kidnapped by an opaque cabal called “The Future.” Along the way, Ralph Fiennes holds forth from the director’s chair, Tilda Swinton chases gossip (video interview here), Frances McDormand loads film, Scarlett Johansson dives into a pool of synchronized swimmers, and Channing Tatum channels his inner “Magic Mike” to twirl on a tabletop in a sailor suit.

If the Coens’ iffy comic track record (sure, there’s “Burn After Reading,” The Big Lebowski” and “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” but there’s also “Intolerable Cruelty,” “The Hudsucker Proxy” and “The Ladykillers”) and the February 2016 release date gives you reason to doubt, that’s understandable. For now, sit back and enjoy the drama, the real drama, of our first look at “Hail, Caesar!”
