Two of cinema’s most iconic auteurs are finally meeting thanks to Vimeo user Gump, who has cut together an imaginative clip that makes memorable characters from Stanley Kubrick’s filmography the villains in Hitchcock’s “Rear Window” and “Vertigo.” Entitled “The Red Drum Getaway,” the four-minute clip is a surreal collision of some of the greatest films ever made.

The video begins quite humorously with a scene from “Rear Window” undercut by “The Shining,” as James Stewart’s L. B. Jefferies spots his new neighbor, Jack Torrance, staring at him from across the courtyard. Things slowly take a menacing turn once Stewart, now as Scottie from “Vertigo,” is chased by Alex and his fellow “A Clockwork Orange” droogs and ends up in an occult orgy from “Eyes Wide Shut.” By the time Stewart is walking in the space module from “2001,” all bets are off and the video plunges into the dark psychology of both genius filmmakers.

Watch the video above and see how much of the iconography you can spot.
