So much for solitude. Luca Guadagnino’s star-studded follow up to his 2009 Italian-language “I Am Love” is “A Bigger Splash,” an effervescent drama that explores how “just dropping by” can go terribly wrong.

The film, which boasts a cast that includes previous collaborator Tilda Swinton, Ralph Fiennes, Dakota Johnson and Matthias Schoenaerts, received much acclaim and a Golden Lion nomination when it premiered at the Venice Film Festival earlier this year.

“A Bigger Splash” follows a beautiful couple (Schoenearts and Swinton) on their equally beautiful Italian Isle vacation. But when their idyllic getaway is interrupted by an old friend and his daughter (Fiennes and Johnson), what seems like a good-natured shakeup quickly devolves into a swirling storm of passion, anger and danger.

Penned by David Kajganich, who has made a name for himself writing horror films like “Blood Creek,” “A Bigger Splash” promises a sheeny outside with a decidedly sinister center and looks to feature knockout performances from Fiennes and the rest of the cast.

“A Bigger Splash” will hit U.S. theaters on May 13, 2016. Watch the dynamic official teaser trailer above.
