Directed by Chad Gracia, the feature documentary trails Alexandrovich as he searches for a political motivation behind the Chernobyl disaster, uncovering secret structures and covert institutions in the process. Part conspiracy theory film, part obsession story, “The Russian Woodpecker” looks to be an intriguing peek into the culture of Ukraine and a rumination on the legacy of tragedy.

The film was recently acquired by FilmBuff and will be released in theaters and On Demand October 16.
