With Netflix, you never know what to expect. Be it an animated series about a talking horse or a prestige drama starring Kevin Spacey, the streaming giant has made it its mission to have a diverse array of viewing options for its 65 million-plus subscribers. It’s only going to grow, too, as “Fuller House,” a Chelsea Handler late-night series and “W/ Bob & David” get set to premiere.
It’s the latter of these that will be first to arrive and thus first to release footage, and that’s exactly what’s happened today. Netflix has unveiled the first sketch from the upcoming sketch series, with Bob Odenkirk, David Cross and Paul F. Thompkins starring as a group of friends playing cards and talking about life goals. It’s a pretty straightforward skit, but Odenkirk and Cross’ commitment help the predictable jokes land.
Yet the series itself is a bit more peculiar. Made up of four half-hour episodes as well as an hour-long “making of” special, “W/ Bob & David” seems ready to follow its own rules rather than what’s been preordained for the genre in years past.
Take a look at the clip above and let us know if you’re eager for more. “W/ Bob & David” releases everything it’s got November 13.
