Denzel Washington to Receive Cecil B. Demille Award at 73rd Golden Globe Awards

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced that Oscar winner Denzel Washington will receive the Cecil B. Demille Award at the 73rd Golden Globe Awards on January 10, 2016. The honor is awarded to an individual who has made an impact on the world of entertainment. Past winners include George Clooney, Woody Allen, Jodie Foster and Morgan Freeman, among others.

“Washington’s long and storied career is earmarked by his countless roles in front and behind the camera,” said Lorenzo Soria, President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. “It is the HFPA’s privilege to honor his contributions to the entertainment industry with the Cecil B. DeMille Award.”

The actor has been nominated for seven Golden Globes throughout his career, winning twice. He can next be seen in Antoine Fuqua’s “The Magnificent Seven,” which hits theaters September 2016.
