El Rey Network Brings 'Halo'-Inspired Animated Web Series 'Red vs. Blue' to Television

Rooster Teeth’s "Red vs. Blue," created in 2003, is a hilarious and action-packed animated series set in the distant future, which tells the story of two groups of soldiers battling for control over a vast canyon with two bases on the opposite ends that is almost entirely void of life (save for some sparse grass and bushes that aren’t really worth fighting over). A legend in the web series world, the series is now coming to television for the first time.

When asked about the animated  series, El Rey Network Founder and Chairman Robert Rodriguez said in a statement that "I’ve been wanting to carve out an animated component to El Rey’s lineup and this was just the perfect fit for the network. ‘Red vs. Blue’ is cool, quirky, badass and a little offbeat.’"

El Rey Network will be bringing the "Halo" video game franchise-based web series to television for the first time. All 13 seasons of "Red vs. Blue" have been carefully curated and formatted from the original shorts into 95 half-hour episodes, which will air weekend mornings from 6am to 10am beginning Saturday, December 5.
