Watch: Honest Trailer For 'Terminator Genisys,' The Reboot That Murdered A Franchise

As the producers behind “Terminator Genisys” look at the franchise and, ahem, “readjust” following this summer’s disappointing box office showing, terrible reviews from critics and a dreadful reception from fans, it’s time to take a look back at how it all went wrong. Screen Junkies have given the movie the Honest Trailer treatment and pretty much nails it.

Bereft of any originality and with constant callbacks to the previous films in the series, ‘Genisys’ also tried to revamp the storyline in the style of “X-Men: Days Of Future Past,” but it was a narrative that constantly needed explaining and made little sense. Then there was the “twist” involving Jason Clarke‘s character given away in the film’s marketing, plus Jai Courtney once again making a franchise appearance, as Hollywood continues to try and make him happen.
