Content Media has hired Tom Butterfield as their film division’s Head of Production. Under President of Film, Jamie Carmichael, Butterfield will oversee the flow of presentable films for Content’s development and production sides. It will also be his responsibility to expand the national and international markets, along with seeking out co-production opportunities.
In the past, Tom worked for Zide/Perry Productions. With their deal with Universal, they produced the “American Pie” and the “Final Destination” series, which helped make them the most successful independent production company in Hollywood. Before this, he worked for the UK Film Council the New Cinema Fund. Most recently, he founded and ran Culmination Productions, where he executive produced “Welcome to Me” starring Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell.
Tom Butterfield said, “I’m really excited to be joining the Content Team at this exciting time for the company, and I’m looking forward to working with them to expand the film slate. There are already a number of high profile projects in play, with talented directors and producers, and we’ll be presenting them to distributors in the months ahead.”
A few films currently on Content’s roster are “Janis: Little Girl Blue,” “The Devil and the Deep Blue See,” and “Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans.”
