Hey New York: '8Players' Is An Immersive Experience You Need To Check Out

There’s a new show in New York that just started last weekend that will allow you to “shed your skin, play a starring role, and step into a customized
immersive night in which plots unfurl and secrets are kept.” Entitled 8Players, it is a trip
out of reality custom-built for every group who enters.

As each 8Player, you arrive at an undisclosed location and will be inducted into a
scenario starring you and an intimate few strangers. With only space for 8 audience-participants (“players”),
you embark on a socially adventurous night out. Players are encouraged to come as
singles or pairs only. There’s several genre choices for your escape.
Choose the adventure you’d like to enter: Girls Boarding School , ‘80s
Erotic Thriller, or ‘90s Teen Horror.

“8Players
is an immersive experience in NYC made from the ashes of queer movie
sub-genres,” writer and producer Ross Tipograph said.  “Our ‘Girls Boarding School’ show is straight out of a
lesbian’s indie DVD vault and is unusually mean, just like The Children’s Hour. Our “80s Erotic Thriller” isn’t only for Fatal Attraction fanatics – there is certainly some Dressed to Kill thrown in. And I can only hope my “90s Teen Horror” show gives Clea DuVall some long overdue joy. (She won’t come.)”

Tipograph added that “each
of these shows is a love letter.”

“I thought, Let’s not just watch our
favorite movies repeatedly, let’s enter them! (I’m talking very Purple
Rose Of Cairo here.) Participating in 8Players is something certain
people enjoy — a live event, dark atmosphere, camp performances…. If
movies are your thing, this may entertain. Not for everybody, which
never hurts, but it’s here! The perfect Oscar season gift.”

Multiple visits encouraged to experience a new plot every
time. No night in 8Players is ever the same, group to group and venue to venue. Get your tickets at www.8players.com. The show runs until January 20th.
