It seems Marvel really wants to prepare audiences for “Doctor Strange,” even though it’s still close to a year away. Perhaps it’s to get everyone comfortable with the spell casting B-character in the comic titan’s arsenal, that’s made a bit more digestible with Benedict Cumberbatch wielding the powers. But what about the baddie? Well, some details about that have been revealed.
EW reports that “Hannibal” star Mads Mikkelsen will be the film’s villainous sorcerer, though his exact character name is not being revealed. “Mads’ character is a sorcerer who breaks off into his own sect,” Kevin Feige teased. “[He] believes that the Ancient One [played by Tilda Swinton] is just protecting her own power base and that the world may be better off if we were to allow some of these other things through.”
So, let’s summarize: a Marvel movie about two dudes having a magic battle? That is actually very relevant to my interests. No joke.
“Doctor Strange” opens on November 4, 2016.
