Michael B. Jordan Is Co-Writing a Spy Thriller Comic Book Series with Plans to Adapt for the Screen

Michael B. Jordan is returning to the comic book universe (post-“Fantastic Four”), but this time as a writer. That’s right, the actor, who’s seemingly on a hot streak right now, will reportedly co-write a new spy series for Dark Horse Comics titled “North.”

“North” follows a soldier who is recruited into a top-secret paramilitary program that modifies his mind to make him a spy like no other. When an operation goes south, he is betrayed by the organizations he serves but quickly discovers he is far more dangerous than even his betrayers realize. Sounds somewhat like a Jason Bourne/Universal Soldier mash-up.

Nathan Edmondson, a writer known for crime series, will co-write with Jordan, who’ll be joined by artists Denys Cowan and Bill Sienkiewicz who will illustrate, as well as colorist Bettie Breitweiser.

THR’s report states that two issues have been completed and that the project is also being created with an eye towards giving Jordan a potential graphic novel series to adapt for the big screen. Whether he’ll star in it, or just produce, we don’t yet know. But it’s good that he’s creating projects for himself, and not relying entirely on the awareness of Hollywood studio decision makers.
