If you’re feeling jazzed about Fox’s six-episode “The X-Files” revival, Gillian Anderson gets you. “I can imagine what that must be like, for a fan to see these familiar faces and the familiar crossbeams of light,” says Anderson in a new behind-the-scenes video that also reveals some of what “The X-Files” will be up to when it returns.
While the latest look at the series’ resurrection is light on unseen footage, Anderson, David Duchovny, and creator Chris Carter promise a satisfying mix of monsters and mythology in the new run of episodes. Beginning and ending the event series with big mythology episodes, “The X-Files” will also feature four stand-alone shows filling out the middle. As for some actual plot particulars, Carter hints, “The government’s secreting of extraterrestrials might come into play in a big way.”
“The X-Files” returns to Fox on January 24, 2016. Watch the behind-the-scenes video above.
