Set to make its world premiere at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, “The Send-Off” is a short documentary that follows a group of high schoolers in central Florida on the day of their prom. The short’s directors Patrick Bresnan and Ivete Lucas have just announced a Kickstarter to help bring some of the featured students to Park City, Utah for the Sundance premiere.
“The Send-Off” peeks into the small town of Pahokee, Florida ahead of the biggest night of the year, when the boys and girls of Pahokee High School get to transcend their industrial landscape and get fancy for a night to remember. The trailer needs no words to highlight the scale of the preparations that culminate in a gigantic block party.
