Watch: Tina Fey Embraces Her "American White Lady" in 'Whiskey Tango Foxtrot'

Tina Fey may be headlining “Star Wars” counter-programming “Sisters” with old pal Amy Poehler this weekend, but her next film, Paramount comedy “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot,” already has a trailer—and for Fey’s character, it’s a bit of a culture shock.

The comic multi-hyphenate, readying the second season of Netflix’s “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” plays Kim Barker, a reporter sent by her TV network to Afghanistan, where she encounters Margot Robbie, Martin Freeman, Alfred Molina, and Billy Bob Thornton while covering stories large and small. She shoots up inanimate objects, dodges explosions, and embraces her “American white lady story”—”Eat Pray Love” as told by a war correspondent— but the trailer’s funniest bit involves a bit of bad driving.

“Whiskey Tango Foxtrot,” adapted from Barker’s memoir by Fey’s “30 Rock” and “Kimmy Schmidt” collaborator Robert Carlock, arrives in theaters March 4, 2016.
