Watch: Tradition and Modern Culture Clash in Visceral Look at WGN America's 'Outsiders'

WGN America’s upcoming drama gives off “Mad Max” vibes set to the tune of “Deliverance.” “Outsiders” promises to be a brutal and rugged experience about a group of Appalachia dwelling folk, featuring a talented lineup that includes David Morse, Thomas M. Wright, Ryan Hurst, Joe Anderson, Gillian Alexy, Kyle Gallner, Christina Jackson, Francie Swift and Phyllis Somerville. The show is created by Peter Mattei and produced by Paul Giamatti, Peter Tolan, Dan Carey and Michael Wimer.

The show’s official description is: “A struggle of power and control set in the rugged hills of Appalachia, ‘Outsiders’ explores the epic battle between the Farrell Clan, a tight-knit family of renegades who have lived atop the rugged Shay Mountain for over two hundred years, and their fight to defend their way of life from the town below and anyone who would dare to challenge them.”

“Outsiders” will make its debut on WGN America on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 9pm. Check out the clip above and the poster below.
