Yes, as you can see in the above tweet, R&B group Boyz II Men will be playing the part of Teen Angel(s) in the Jan. 31 production of "Grease: Live" which will be broadcast on Fox. The network confirmed the announcement yesterday.
For the uninitiated, the character of Teen Angel appears in a vision to Frenchy (to be by Carly Rae Jepsen in the "Live" production on Fox), who needs a little cheering up after deciding to drop out of beauty school, and who performs the song, “Beauty School Dropout.” The role was played by Frankie Avalon in the 1978 movie version.
Boyz II Men (Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman and Wanya Morris) will all play Teen Angel (why settle for one angel when you can have three). They join the previously announced cast members Aaron Tveit (Danny), Julianne Hough (Sandy), Vanessa Hudgens (Rizzo), Carlos PenaVega (Kenickie), Keke Palmer (Marty), Kether Donohue (Jan) and Mario Lopez (Vince Fontaine).
Additionally, singer Jessie J will open the show with a live performance of “Grease (Is the Word),” a song written by Barry Gibb for the 1978 movie.
